About Us
Jaimie & Darren Martin
A Family-Run Local Business
Lake Macquarie & Newcastle Region
We’re Jaimie and Darren Martin — a husband-and-wife team, parents, locals, and co-founders of Holistic Care Therapy. Together, we bring a shared passion for supporting our community through meaningful relationships, practical help, and support that feels like family.
This isn’t just a business to us — it’s a reflection of who we are and what we care most deeply about: people, connection, and community.
Why We Work So Well Together
We’re often told we make a great team — and we think that’s because we truly complement each other. Darren brings calm, steady leadership and a gift for engaging with people who others sometimes find “too hard to reach.” Jaimie brings fierce advocacy, compassion, and deep knowledge of the education/NDIS systems and family support.
What brings us together is a genuine belief in people, and the drive to help them feel safe, valued, and empowered to build their best possible life.
Whether we’re sitting around a table with a participant and their support coordinator, attending NDIS meetings, helping a young person transition out of school, or cheering on the sidelines at a local footy game—we bring the same care, commitment, and heart.
Our Life in the Community
We live, work, raise our kids, and give back in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle region. You’ll often find us volunteering with local sporting clubs, including Swansea Caves Junior Rugby League Club, Valentine Devils Rugby League Club, and Newcastle Knights Pathways Program where Darren supports youth development both on and off the field. These aren’t just sidelines for us—they’re extensions of our passion. We believe that strong communities raise strong people, and we’re proud to be actively involved in shaping positive spaces where young people feel they belong.

Where it all began: Community, Care & Commitment
Darren spent 25 years with the NSW Police Force, with most of his career in Youth Command at PCYC Lake Macquarie. He designed and delivered early intervention programs, mentoring pathways, and restorative practices for young people navigating really tough circumstances.
He has a deep passion for youth justice, case management, and practical community involvement—he’s someone who shows up, listens without judgment, and helps create pathways when none seem obvious. Many of the young people he’s supported have gone on to change their lives in incredible ways.
Jaimie has been a teacher, leader, and advocate in education for over 20 years. Her career has focused on inclusive education, supporting neurodivergent students, and guiding families through complex school systems. She’s helped countless young people with disability access the right funding, supports, and post-school opportunities — always championing their strengths and right to belong.
She brings passion, lived experience, and fierce advocacy into everything she does, especially when it comes to standing alongside families through moments of uncertainty or transition.
More than a service – It’s a family approach
Holistic Care Therapy is a family-run business, and we support others the way we would want our own family to be supported.
From support coordinators to therapists, schools, GPs, and community organisations—we aim to be kind, capable, and consistent partners in care. Because we know that when the right people come together, amazing things happen.
- Showing up with kindness, honesty, and flexibility
- Building real relationships with participants, families, and professionals
- Going above and beyond what’s written in a service agreement
- Being a team that communicates, collaborates, and cares deeply
Why We Work So Well Together
At the heart of everything we do is one simple belief:
People thrive when they feel safe, seen, and supported.
Whether we’re working with a young person navigating post-school life, a family trying to access the right services, or a participant finding their voice through independence—we’re here for the long haul.
We don’t just provide services.
We walk beside people on their journey—and we do it with heart.
